We want to thank all of our photo contestants and their families for taking place in our Children's Photo Contest. It was a fun and surprising week. Why surprising? There were over 1200 votes on the blog where the contest was being held. We never thought that many people would vote, but they did and we LOVED it.
I'll give you a quick recap of the contest and maybe next year you can be the winner. The contest idea started with the idea of replacing some of our larger display prints in our studio gallery. Like most people that would not be on the top of the To-do list, but it was time and I sold the displays. Now we have blank walls. At first we were just looking for some children to photograph for some new and fresh ideas, but thought that it would be fun to make it a contest.
We will be choosing one of the images from the contest for a 30x40 display print, but we wanted to have control over what image goes on our walls for a couple of years. We decided the person who could get the most votes would win $100 in cash or $300 in 'Ridgeway' cash. The voting started Wednesday, April 2nd and ended last night, April 9th at 11:00pm (CST).
This year's winner is Sullivan (Sully) Wallheimer. Not only is he a cutie in photographs, but you would, seriously, fall in love with this little guy if you met him in person. He's just funny and sweet and has quite a personality.
Sully's mom has chosen the $300 in Ridgeway cash as her prize and we couldn't be more thrilled.
We plan on having a few more contests this year so make sure you subscribe to our blog so that you will get notices of when those things come up.
Thanks again to all of you who participated one way or another in this photo contest. We appreciate and I'm positive that Sully and his parents thank you also.
